REF. 05 / Hospitality
Hotel: Lobby and Guest Rooms
My idea
A two-floor hotel. The first floor is open and welcoming, and the guest floor is quiet and organized.
Materials I used
Floor plan software. Wood floors in the lobby and bedrooms, tile in the bathrooms, and speckled concrete in the service rooms and halls.
About this project
For this project I designed two floors of a hotel and thought about who uses each part: guests, staff, and the people who clean.
The first floor is mostly a lobby and lounge of about 3,020 square feet, with a small entry vestibule. On the side there is a luggage room, bathrooms, a staff hall with its own bathroom, a service room, housekeeping, storage and a small office. Guests get the open lounge, and staff have their own paths behind it.
The guest floor has ten rooms, numbered 101 to 110, and every room has its own bathroom. Rooms 101 to 106 line up along the hallway, so I could repeat the same layout. Rooms 107 to 110 are bigger, about 245 to 260 square feet. Linen storage, a large housekeeping room, the elevator lobby and the stairs are in the middle.
